We take the beautiful alpine town of San Martin de los Andes as the center of our "public waters"operation. Our clients stay at 4 star apart-hotel type cabins located downtown and we take the clients out to dinner at different restaurants every night.
We fish the same rivers as in the private ranches only the public sections of them and in addition we fish some of the lakes inside the Lanin National Park. The Lakes we often fish are the Lolog, Queñi and Filo Hua-hum. We fish such lakes as we would a large river. We float the shores casting our lines near the steep, deep banks hoping for a strike. The waters are so clear that you often see the strikes 20 feet under the water!
9 foot 4 to 6wt. rods for the Malleo, Chimehuin and Collon Cura rivers. We suggest you bring a 7wt. if you decide to fish the lakes along with a 250 or 300 grain sinking tip fly line to be able to get deep enough.
